Dan Morstad (Minneapolis, USA)
Love Lines in Minneapolis has now a unique street ministry. Our counselors go out on the streets in the neighborhood and minister to hurting people including gang members. Many have accepted Jesus as Savior. We are now inviting these people into our center for special times of Christian fellowship. A twenty-year old man who was suicidal called Love Lines. He was on the verge of ingesting poison. After talking three hours with the counselor, he threw the poison down the drain and asked Jesus to come into his heart. An alcoholic called the center; the counselor developed a friendship with him and as a result he entered into a treatment program, and began his journey to victory.
Pam Drinnan (Hull, England)
A man said that if it were not for the Crossline, he would not be leading a normal life today. A lady called and thanked the staff and reported that she was feeling calmer and was grateful that there was a Christian crisis line. A lady said that when she had previously called the center things changed for the better in her life. She specially thanked the counselor who personally talked with her at the center. A man said that when he is worried and in fear he can count on the Crossline staff to comfort him. A man who was feeling depressed found that even the message on the answering machine helped him feel better because it meant that someone cared. A lady called to say that she and her family became Christians, and their lives are completely changed. She thanked the Crossline staff for leading her to accept Jesus as her Savior..
Innocent Ochei (Lagos, Nigeria)
A woman with a bridge pregnancy had a normal and safe delivery after online prayer. Someone with a kidney problem received prayer and was healed. An individual who has been involved in the occult repented and was delivered. Three persons who had been suicidal have been delivered. One director sees callers individually and takes them to a mountain for retreat where they have joint prayer and fasting.
Seydou Badini (Burkina Faso)
A call was received from a woman who had three children. She was having a relationship problem with her husband. He wanted to divorce her. The staff prayed and fasted; as a result, the relationship was restored. Now they are living in peace and have the joy of the Lord. The center has successfully helped 15 families with marital problems.
A woman called whose 12 year-old daughter was suffering from demon possession. The staff prayed for deliverance and she was completely delivered. The center receives calls from hundreds of converted Muslims with problems. Many of them have been abandoned by their families and friends and have nothing to eat. The staff at the Hope Line Center have become their family.
Wilson Waswa (Busia, Uganda)
Wilson Waswa is a profesor of Uganda’s largest university, and also chairman of Africa Inland Church in Uganda. He has planted 24 churches. He has degrees in Theology, Missiology and Christian Counseling. He has taught his students about telephone counseling using the Love Lines Counselor Training Material. His students are very enthusiastic about telephone counseling and would like to start centers as soon as they graduate.
Anabelle and Doug Heckathorn (California, USA)
Directors Anabelle and Doug have just finished building a Healing Room at the back of their residence. The ministry targets the Filipino community in California. The center is utilizing Filipino volunteers for counseling here and in the Philippines by using internet technology. Recently, a two-year old child whose lungs were collapsing, was healed completely. Also, another man who had a brain tumor and was told by the doctors that he would not have his memory back, was healed and is driving again and performing his normal activities. The total number of calls for the year 2007 was 5,000 which included email evangelism. Also 2,789 people have accepted Christ.
Petro Aziato (Lome, Togo)
Love Lines is now connecting to Hedjegan, a remote village in Togo where Director Petro conducted evangelistic work This includes crusades, house to house visits, testimonies in small groups, showing the Jesus Film, providing medical relief and used clothes. These all have been very helpful in ministering to the villagers. About one thousand people attended the last crusade of which 362 persons received Christ. There were many healings and deliverance from demon oppressions and possessions. As a result, there was great joy in the village. However, the ministry encountered many persecutions from witch doctors and voodoo leaders who tried to attack the staff physically. But God protected them and no one was hurt. Petro promotes the ministry of telephone counseling where ever he goes.
Reuben Zivagwe (Harare, Zimbabwe)
God has been working miraculously in the lives of people in spite of enormous human suffering. Most callers are depressed due to inflation at over 200,000% and the serious economic condition. About 80% of people do not have jobs. Last year 700 people were helped and nearly 25% of them received Jesus as their Savior. Broken homes have been restored. One hundred twenty nine counselors have been trained at the Counseling School. Some have secured jobs in the government and other agencies. Many have received healing. One old man with a bladder condition called for prayer. The following day he called the center to testify that he slept well at night without experiencing any pain or problem. God miraculously healed him.
Robert Sebunya (Kampala, Uganda)
Robert approached a barmaid and asked if she would display a sign from his center in the bar. She welcomed the idea. The neon sign said, “Are You Sick? Are you worried? Are you troubled?” After the questions, the phone number of the Blessed Family Love Lines Counseling Center was displayed for anyone to call. Later, we found out that the barmaid used to be a believer, but had forsaken the Lord, and got this job in the bar next to the counseling center. Soon she called and requested prayer to get another job. Three weeks later she came to church and reported that she quit her job at the bar, gave her life back to the Lord, and believed God for another job. Several bars, video rentals and barber shops are requesting to display these neon signs.
Louis Plamondon (Edmonton, Alberta)
A 21 year-old lady called to give thanks for the ministry she received a few years ago. At the time she was living on the streets, using drugs, and working as a prostitute. She said that after receiving ministry and prayer, she seriously sought the Lord and went back to school and also got married. A man who was feeling desperate, called. He had three jobs in the last year and was unable to keep a job because of his addiction. The counselor led him to Christ. He was given many resources including a church that he promised he would attend.
Xaviero Dzoko (Lome, Togo)
The Holy Spirit has done wonderful things here in Line of Hope Center. There are many praise reports and testimonies. The most outstanding one is a call received from a woman whose son was addicted to drugs. She was asked to bring him to the center but he wouldn’t come; nobody could approach him. The counselor prayed and the following day he visited their home. God touched the young man and he was delivered. Now the woman and the son often visit the center and also support the ministry financially.
Emolu Ebiasali (Soroti, Uganda)
The flood had swept everything. People were displaced and had nothing to eat and no where to live in. When Director Emolu returned from the Director’s Training Conference, Kampala, Uganda, he organized a prayer meeting. God answered the prayers, and the flood stopped.
Michael Mbwambo (Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania)
A lady who was married for eight years was unable to conceive. After prayer and counseling her faith was strengthened. She is now expecting a child sometime this year. Praise the Lord! A mother called for prayer for her daughter who was dying in the hospital. She recovered immediately. Because of this miracle many of her relatives and friends are calling the center for prayer.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:12-13)
