July 2008 Amanda, a 21 year old, was off her meds and called in suicidal because she was depressed and bi-polar. She was HIV positive, contracting it from her boyfriend who was dying of AIDS. Her family had been coming down on her, telling her that she was no good. We told her that God loves her and that parents make mistakes under pressure. She had not eaten for a long time and got a 3.5 rating on our suicide-rating sheet, so we called 911 to pick her up and take her to the hospital. We have her address so we can have her followed up. We have had 36 calls about suicide this year. Tracy, from Northfield, called for prayer to heal the fibromyalgia in her shoulder. Mark, our prayer counselor, laid hands on the phone and prayed for her shoulder to be healed. Warmth came over the area and all the pain left as God healed her. She was praising the Lord and also is coming into our Healing Rooms, which are open Fridays and Saturdays from 3-6pm. Mary, another of our prayer counselors, prayed for a seven-year-old for the healing of the pain in his navel. As God healed him the pain left and he returned to school. This year we have had 295 calls for healing and 126 people have come into our Healing Rooms. A man called Need Him and decided that he didn’t want the theology of salvation but wanted the real thing. As we showed him out of the Bible he prayed to receive Christ and became alive with Jesus over the phone. This year 377 people prayed to receive Christ as Savior. Allen, from Utah, called to say that after receiving Christ as his Savior over the phone, he was growing in the Lord and attending a Word Church across the street from him. He also laid hands on his wife’s head as he prayed with us for her emotional healing. As they prayed the peace and joy of the Lord came over them as they began to laugh. In the past they had felt condemned by the Mormon Church. This year 310 of our callers have been followed up by churches. Peggy emailed us from Mexico, writing that she was trained as a counselor and prayed for the afflictions of others. Now God was healing her and poured back His blessing on her and she blossomed spiritually. She is now working on opening a Love Lines in Mexico. Like Peggy let God pour out a blessing on you. Join our September counselor training class. In June 10,000 people show up for the NE parade which covers 12 blocks and passes right in front of our building. We had 20 people witnessing on the streets and another 30 in the parade last year. They were singing, dancing, handing out cards and collecting prayer requests. God moved powerfully. The beginning of August we will work with the North Shore Fellowship in Grand Marais to march in their parade. My prayer for you this month is that according to Psalm 15:30-31, that God will make your feet like hinds’ feet able to stand firmly on God, your Rock, at dangerous heights of testing and trouble and make your way perfect.
